Ordinary Saints of Christmas: Mary

Pastor Evan shared in our sermon series “Ordinary Saints of Christmas." Jesus saw people as more than they were. They were beloved, holy, and beautiful to God. This week Pastor Evan shared on the story of Mary. God was calling ordinary people into the story. This young woman was a teenager, and was betrothed and that was a commitment likely made between their families. There was immense pressure in that. Mary was likely doing boring, ordinary things and not thinking about having babies when the angel Gabriel came to visit her. She was afraid and confused by what she was being told. Eventually, she was willing to lean into the mystery of God and it changed her. It is hard to lean into the mystery. Have you, do you and are you willing to invite the mystery of God into your life?
